I am also aware of factors which compete with the culture of Thrift and complicate the activities of those individuals trying to practice it. I believe there is more to thrift than the monetary management of money. But I think much is required to convince adults and children that careful use of all resources leads to a calmer and happier life. I was raised in a family where the coat of arms should have displayed the word "Thrift". I have seen the advantages of living in a culture where resources are evaluated, goals are embraced, plans are formulated by all family members and thoughtful action is taken to ensure success. We need to do everything we can to support, publicize and demonstrate the advantages of Thrift. It seems to me that this is surely the time to study. and hopefully, support thrift centered action.

You are right on.We're all guilty of some of what is wrong.--overspending or just not paying attention to people like the clerk in the grocery store. I do believe that the American spirit will triumph and we will find our soul again. And will be grateful for this wakeup call.
