David Brooks on Thrift

June 10, 2008

I attended a conference a few weeks ago, sponsored by the Institute for American Values, where I presented material from my book. That conference, and the document that emerged out of it, was the subject of David Brooks’ column this morning. It is a wonderful perspective on the motivation for “Whatever Happened to Thrift” and the seriousness of the problem the U.S. faces.

  1. The David Brooks piece is excellent–it raises so many valid points.

I do wonder what the future holds for our country if we can’t replace some of our debt culture with thrift.
